Alright, Hello everyone. Today we are going to talk about Chrome tabs. Specifically, how many chrome tabs Can you have? At the top of your monitor, sometimes people have 30, or 40, or 50. And it can get very confusing, especially with all of the web based applications we have these days. And with us, specifically Salesforce, and the tools that go along with working inside of Salesforce.
So today, I’m just going to show you a couple tips that Chrome provides us to help with this. One of them being you can pin a tab. Right, so there’s duplicate this to have also and it’ll be pinned. So a lot of times, I pin important tabs that I don’t want to be removed from the window like calendar inbox. Maybe you’re working in an application where you’re doing time tracking, like in JIRA, or something like that. So that’s very helpful to pin a tab. And then also, I’m going to show you how there’s this new feature of Chrome with grouping tabs.
So you can see I have many tabs open here. You know, if I had a smaller, it’s a pretty big monitor here, it’s a 24 inch, but to say you’re working on your laptop screen or a smaller monitor, you know, these tabs start to get small, and you can’t see what they are doing. You can see I have some helper things here that says if this is a development, environment, or sandbox, and those are pretty cool. But today, I’m going to show you how you can make all these tabs, you can do a group. And so if you right click it, you can see this add tab to a new group. Let’s make this one orange. Give it a cool name. Dev. org. Hey, there we go. You see it puts the first tab in there. Now you can either right click this and add this tab to the same group or new group. Or you can just drag this window into that tab group. I like to just drag them in, it’s easier. Alright, there we go.
So the cool thing with this, you can see I have all these tabs under one group, we can click that and close it up. Now we can have more real estate to see what our tabs are doing and what they’re for. So again, I’ll show you I’ll make another one here. So you can see the Dev. org one is here, we’re gonna make another new group. Make this one purple, and call this sandbox. Right, then just drag in say you’re using another application. This is a tool we use with Salesforce a lot called Workbench, you know, just drag it in there. That looks great. And you can close and open those group tabs as needed, giving you more screen real estate back. Alright, that’s it for today.
