We have clients who use it, so I am sure that there are plenty of others saying “what do I do now?”
My answer is either Outlook Integration with or without Lightning Sync, or Einstein Activity Capture (EAC). There is some configuration involved in regards to the Outlook panel, and layouts, if you choose to customize it.
The primary benefit for EAC is that logging emails is no longer a manual activity. Once a contact is recognized via the connection, EAC syncs 6 months of email history into a timeline activity related list in Salesforce. It will automatically log emails as activities.

I definitely will. So anyone who’s using Salesforce for Outlook, ears up, we have some news for you, in December 2020, Salesforce for Outlook will be sunset. So yes, it’s big news. It’s really big news. And it’s time for people to start thinking about what they want to do. So if your sales team or your customer service team, any of your Salesforce users are currently using Salesforce for Outlook, you better start thinking about what your replacement plan is going to be because that feature will be retired in December 2020. So anyone who’s using Microsoft Outlook, needs to start thinking about next generation products, and how they’re going to replace Salesforce for Outlook.

Yes, speaking of next generation products, from what we can understand right now is everything will be moved over to an Outlook Integration and Einstein activity capture, that’s what people really wanting to move their sales reps to and get their cloud based products on. As with anything, the earlier that you can plan, make the move and have some redundancies so that you can get your people trained, get them used to it and start to follow those good change management processes that we really preach about at cloud adoption solutions, the better. So, without question, now’s the time. Don’t wait until December 2020, when it’s yanked from you.
