What’s New with Salesforce?
Salesforce Unveils Agentforce 2dx: Pushing AI Agents Into the Enterprise
Salesforce has announced Agentforce 2dx, the latest expansion of its AI suite, promising to bring autonomous AI agents into everyday business workflows—without the need for constant human intervention. These agents can trigger actions, respond to events, and interface with users in a more dynamic, context-aware way.
Some of the key features include:
-
Agentforce API: Allows agents to integrate with back-end systems and respond to real-time events, such as ERP order creation or service escalations.
-
Agentforce Invocable Actions: Embeds agents directly into Salesforce’s automation tools like Flow and Apex, bridging AI reasoning with existing business logic.
-
MuleSoft for Agentforce: Connects AI agents to APIs with natural language prompts, streamlining integration across systems.
-
Agentforce Steps in Slack: Enables agents to participate in Slack-based workflows, using conversational context to trigger actions.
Salesforce is also launching AgentExchange, a marketplace for pre-built, partner-developed AI agents, and Agentforce Developer Edition, a free sandbox to experiment with these tools.
While the vision is ambitious, there’s reason for measured skepticism. These tools could add complexity if not implemented with care—especially in organizations that already struggle with automation fundamentals. The promise of “autonomous” agents also raises concerns around oversight, accountability, and the real-world reliability of AI in high-stakes business processes. And since many features are still in preview, it’s unclear how soon customers will see tangible ROI.
Still, if Salesforce can simplify adoption and prove real value beyond the buzzwords, Agentforce 2dx could mark a meaningful shift in how businesses leverage AI across operations.

User Adoption Research: Details from my PhD Research
Studying Salesforce Academically – and then Putting it into Practice
In my research on CRM User Adoption, I interviewed users, and then coded their responses to themes and sub-themes. Meet governance:
Sub-Theme: Governance of CRM
The last sub-theme, or axial code, “Governance of CRM,” was made by combining three open codes. The governance of CRM was an important consideration. Many respondents stated that they have created an internal committee to manage and govern the CRM implementation and adoption issues in the organization. As one of the respondents stated, “There is an internal committee at the organization that manages the database, and it’s mostly the team that kind of owns that.”
If your company does not currently use a governance committee approach to keeping Salesforce aligned with business needs, we can help you set your strategy and tactics for that!

Q: How do I overhaul Salesforce process without ruining adoption?
A: Great question!
Adoption definitely wavers anytime Salesforce is changed in a heavy lift. Our biggest ally is always going to be: Training! Ensuring that you are actively training on the necessary steps to use the new Salesforce features and changes, means that your team will have the leg up when it comes to adoption.
But what if your team trains but doesn’t retain the information? This is when we turn to the practice of patience! It will take time for team members to adjust, especially if they have been doing things for a long time in a specific way. Remember that a good timeline, patience, and support will always create an environment in which adoption thrives!
The last piece of advice we can offer is to ensure the design of Salesforce changes actually helps your teams. This will ensure that they are able to adopt at a faster rate. Mindful and user centered design means happier Salesforce users!
