What’s New with Salesforce?

See You at SCOPE Summit in Orlando

The SCOPE Summit is quickly approaching, and we’re excited to be heading to Orlando this February to connect with leaders across clinical research, life sciences, and biopharma.

SCOPE has become one of the most important annual gatherings for the industry, bringing together executives, operators, and innovators to share real-world insights on clinical operations, data strategy, commercialization, and the future of drug development. It’s always a valuable opportunity to step back from day-to-day execution and engage in forward-looking conversations with peers facing similar challenges.

Our Team Will Be On Site

Members of our team will be attending SCOPE throughout the week, meeting with clients, partners, and new connections to discuss how life sciences organizations are evolving their commercial and operational technology stacks. We value the chance to step away from day-to-day execution to engage in forward-looking conversations with peers facing similar challenges.

If you’ll be in Orlando, we would love to schedule a time to connect, catch up, and share perspectives on where the industry is headed.

We look forward to seeing many of you in Orlando!

User Adoption Research: Details from my PhD Research

Studying Salesforce Academically – and then Putting it into Practice

When you write a dissertation based on qualitative research, you have to create (and have approved by an IRB) an interview protocol. One of the most critical questions I asked my study participants about their CRM User Adoption was:

Do you use a CRM governance committee structure?

  • If so, who is on that committee?
  • How often do they meet?
  • Is there a set agenda?
  • Who takes action on any outcomes?

Participants gave wild responses, ranging from a formal governance committee to an unclear governing structure.

  • There is an internal committee at the organization that manages the database, and it’s mostly the team that kind of owns that.
  • The person that oversees it is our sales manager.
  • So you get to that point, you have no governance, there’s no, it was. It’s interesting, because you’re like, we’re a capacity builder, we should know, we should have those systems in place.

You can almost HEAR the stuttering in that last response, right?

If you don’t have a governance committee in place, there’s a great Trailhead module that helps give info on the how and why (and the people/process/technology triangle that made up so much of my PhD research is even depicted! Win!)

Salesforce: CAS Come and See Videos

Stop Fragmenting Your Data! Unify Surveys & Forms in Salesforce

Join us for the recap of this insightful virtual session: “Unify Surveys, Forms, and Assessments in Salesforce: Design for Life Sciences Flexibility & Insight” with the seasoned entrepreneur and Salesforce technologist, Rajesh Unadkat! We invite you to dive into this session with the Salesforce and the Life Sciences Group, as we uncover how Salesforce Admins and Architects can ditch external tools and design a unified feedback architecture 100% natively inside Salesforce.

We discuss how to model reusable question sets, manage different data capture use cases (surveys, forms, quizzes), and design a schema that supports automation, analytics, and compliance — all without relying on external tools. You’ll see a live example of this architecture in action using SurveyVista, a 100% native survey, form, and assessment app for Salesforce.

Advice from an Expert

Send your Qs to info@cloudadoption.solutions

Q: “How do I know when it’s time to upgrade my salesforce instance?”

A: Good question! And not a simple one type answer.

For those who are new this is a reference to a license upgrade (e.g., moving to Enterprise Edition). For general rule of thumb when you hit a “hard” technical wall that prevents integration or data security is the best time to think about it.

The most common trigger is the need for API access to connect Salesforce with other tools, such as your ERP, marketing automation platform, or data warehouse. Additionally, if you need control over exactly who sees what (Field-Level Security) or require complex automation that exceeds the strict transaction limits of lower editions, you have officially outgrown your current setup.

If your bottleneck is user productivity rather than technical limits, the “upgrade” you need is likely regarding the interface or system health, which is something to keep in mind!
