What’s New with Salesforce?

Why You Need to Prepare for the End of Process Builder and Workflow Rules

Salesforce has officially confirmed that Process Builder and Workflow Rules will be fully retired on December 31. Beginning in the new year, these legacy automation tools will no longer be supported. That means any critical processes still running on them may fail, break silently, or expose your org to operational and security risks.

If your team has not yet migrated to Flow or rearchitected your automation stack, this is the moment to act. Many organizations underestimate how many hidden or long-forgotten automations are still running behind the scenes, and a single missed dependency can disrupt quoting, approvals, integrations, notifications, or other core business processes.

This change is also a great opportunity to evaluate the broader health of your Salesforce environment. Legacy tools often cluster with other risks like inconsistent permission set design, overly broad access, unused fields, fractured data models, and automations that compete with or override one another.

If you want to understand whether your Salesforce instance is at risk from sunsetting automations, permission set sprawl, unused objects and fields, or weak data governance, —reach out to me at Sam@cloudadoption.solutions about our complimentary Salesforce Metadata Analysis. It gives you a clear, objective view of the health of your org and highlights exactly where to focus next!

There’s a lot of Salesforce news, and it’s hard to keep up!  As always, Cloud Adoption Solutions aims to bring the best and most important Salesforce news to you so you don’t have to do all of the work. Keep following along with us and make sure to subscribe to our blog posts for more!  – Sam

User Adoption Research: Details from my PhD Research

 Literature Search Strategy

One of the primary chapters of a PhD dissertation is the literature review. It’s critical to examine a mass of peer-reviewed literature, but unsurprisingly, I had a heck of a time finding a mass concentrated on CRM user adoption at nonprofit organizations.  Today, I’m sharing with you my literature review search approach:

The literature reviewed for this study gathers seminal and peer-reviewed research from scholars that address the following search terms:

  • CRM Usage at Nonprofit
  • CRM at Small Nonprofit
  • CRM Adoption
  • CRM at Nonprofit
  • Nonprofit Mission
  • Case Study
  • Nonprofit Funding
  • Qualitative Research
  • Change Management
  • Change Management Cloud Software
  • CRM Sales Force Automation
  • Diffusion of Innovations Theory
  • Change Management Theory
  • Adult Learner Theory

On ProQuest and other databases with advanced search options, the following filters were chosen to limit results:

  • Limit search to Scholarly Journals, Books, Dissertations and Theses
  • Limit to Full Text and Peer Reviewed
  • Limit to language of English
  • Limit to publication date of Specific Date Range of Any Month, Any Day 2010 through Any Month, Any Day 2020
  • Publication date to Any Month, Any Day changed to include 2005-2020 and 1965-2020 to capture seminal works

We apply a research-driven approach to all of our methods now, so this research was impactful on our Salesforce practice!

Advice from an Expert

Send your Qs to info@cloudadoption.solutions

Q: “What are Dreamin’ events and how do I get started and involved?”

A: This is a great question, because when a lot of us start in the Salesforce ecosystem we are flooded with a new vocabulary. It’s almost like a club with some cool members-only passwords!

A Dreamin’ event is a place for Salesforce enthusiasts, business users, consultants, partners, and most specifically admins, developers, and architects to meet and share ideas! A Dreamin’ event is exactly what it sounds like: an event where people can dream up new ideas and ways to collaborate.

These events are everywhere, from small rural communities to large cities; you can basically find a Dreamin’ event anywhere. Typically, they are run by a group of awesome people who just want to find a way for like-minded experts to hold some sessions and share ideas.

If someone wants to get involved with a Dreamin’ event it couldn’t be easier: just ask! These events are typically very volunteer-based, so don’t be afraid to reach out and get involved. Check out the comprehensive list of events that our friends at Elements.Cloud put together!
