Catch The Salesforce Scoop
What’s New with Salesforce?
Process Builder and Workflow Rules Are Sunset. Flow Is the Standard.
Salesforce has officially retired Process Builder and Workflow Rules. These legacy automation tools are no longer being enhanced, and Salesforce has made it clear that Flow is the single automation framework going forward.
If your organization is still relying on Workflow Rules or Process Builder, this is not just technical housekeeping, it is an operational risk.
Why This Matters Now
The most important risk is straightforward. If legacy automations break, your business processes are disrupted.
Automation drives lead routing, opportunity updates, approvals, renewals, notifications, integrations, and reporting. If those rules stop firing or behave unpredictably, the impact is immediate. Sales teams miss updates. Operations works with bad data. Leadership loses visibility. In some cases, revenue is directly affected.
Beyond immediate disruption, complexity compounds over time. When logic is spread across Workflow Rules, Process Builder, Flow, and Apex triggers, troubleshooting becomes slower and change becomes riskier. Salesforce is investing in Flow. Legacy automation will only become more fragile as the platform continues to evolve.
What We Recommend
Rather than simply converting one tool to another, organizations should conduct a structured review of their automation landscape. That includes:
• Workflow Rules and Process Builder logic
• Existing Flows and how they interact
• Apex triggers and custom automation
• Order of execution dependencies
• Redundant or overlapping logic
• High impact processes tied to revenue or compliance
The goal is to stabilize your environment, reduce technical debt, and align your automation framework with Salesforce’s long term roadmap.

User Adoption Research: Details from my PhD Research
User Adoption of CRM Systems is Driven by Good Practice
Here are some direct quotes from the qualitative interviews I completed as part of my research – I bet you can relate to many of them! I also list here the “Open Code” I assigned to each one in order to build my research findings.
- “…for some people, it (learning Salesforce) was a very painstaking arduous process. For others, it was much less arduous.” Understanding that individuals have different learning styles
- “There was some kind of push and pull as to what information we had Put in there some, some reps felt like they, they used either Outlook or, you know, they had folders, you know, so they, they didn’t feel like they had to put all that kind of stuff in there. And then when Salesforce switched from classic to lightning, that was another big, you know, hullabaloo.” Breaking resistance from old working style
- “So we hired her, right? She’s like, 10 hours a week. When we switch to lightning, she had no problems. And so I would say to my staff, the 80-year-old worker has gotten that if you can’t.” Sharing remarkable learning story with them

Q: How can I continue to find new integrations for Salesforce?
A: Like most things in the Salesforce world, we are lucky to say there is more than one way of doing things!
When it comes to integrations that have a huge potential impact on your business, there are a few places to look that we recommend. The AppExchange should always be first on your list; whether you want automation, sales enablement, or digital engagement, the Salesforce AppExchange has what you need! Just search in the search bar what exactly you are looking for, and take a look around! Many companies include demos of their product and are eager to meet with you. This is even how we have found some of our amazing partners!
Another way we suggest to find new integrations for your Salesforce org is through searching YouTube. Salesforce is HUGE on YouTube; there are thousands of accounts that create helpful videos and demo their own orgs. This is a great place to go when someone is looking to bolster their own integrations, and often will point them in the right direction.
Finally, ask your Salesforce Partner or Salesforce AE. They’re a wealth of knowledge and have access to a large community to ask these sorts of questions, to keep your search accurate for the best solution!
Integrations are a huge part of Salesforce, and each year amazing new apps and tools are made available. Getting the right integrations could mean the difference between yourself and a competitor, so in this current business climate, always be looking for ways to innovate before others do!
To find your next integration search here on the AppExchange!

Content Corner
- STREAMING: If you’re looking for a thrill that hits close to home, check out “The Rip.” Starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, this high-stakes thriller centers on a team navigating a web of digital breadcrumbs and cartel-controlled cash. While it’s an action-packed heist movie, it’s a great reminder for the Salesforce community about the “chain of custody” for information and the risks of fragmented data. Check it out for yourself and stream now on Netflix!
- APPS WE LOVE: As we push into 2026, data cleanliness is no longer optional—it’s the fuel for your AI. Check out Cloudingo. While it’s a veteran on the AppExchange, its newest updates specifically target Data Cloud and Agentforce readiness. It allows you to find, merge, and prevent duplicates across massive datasets automatically. For any organization looking to deploy AI agents this year, Cloudingo is the “car wash” your data needs before it hits the engine!
- TRAILS WE LOVE: It’s time to get “Spring Ready” with the “Spring ’26 Release Highlights” trailmix! This is the best way to catch up on the non-AI features that actually impact your daily life, like the new Native GIS (Geographic Information System) for better territory mapping and the massive Flow Builder enhancements (including the new Kanban screen components!). It’s a quick, 45-minute win that ensures you aren’t missing out on the free tools Salesforce just dropped into your org!
