Salesforce Deepens Life Sciences Push with Takeda Partnership

Salesforce is accelerating its expansion into the pharmaceutical sector through a significant partnership with Takeda, a global biopharmaceutical leader. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in Salesforce’s Life Sciences strategy—especially in the wake of its split from Veeva Systems, which had long been the dominant player in pharma CRM.

Together, Salesforce and Takeda plan to co-develop an AI-powered customer experience platform tailored specifically for the life sciences industry. The platform will integrate Salesforce’s cutting-edge AI capabilities with Takeda’s deep expertise in pharmaceuticals to enhance engagement with both patients and healthcare providers. Change Management is CRITICAL to User Adoption

“Specifically, collective learning can only be facilitated once the leader, or change agent, understands the shared mental models of the organization, the role of reflection during the learning, and the methods to minimize distractions and barriers during the process (Hayes, 2018, p. 501).  Similarly, Block (2008) reminds the reader that small steps allow the group…to remain in a pattern of learn, experiment, learn again, which is a requirement for communal transformation (p. 74).  Leaders must reframe the concept of failing to the concept of learning, according to Heath and Heath (2010); the momentum changes, the frustration is lessened, and challenges that deliver insights are now viewed as optimistic (p. 169).  Trust and confidence in the ability of the leadership to design, implement, and manage transparent and honest change… is imperative for change success (Rosenbaum et al., 2017, p. 82).”

Q:  What is the best way to begin a tech stack overhaul?

A: For us it all begins with process. Forget technology first, just go with what the flow of events is from your pre starting point, all the way to a satisfied and continued customer. What does this look like? Does what you use now benefit this process? Are you paying for redundancies?

Now bring in technology, and begin to weigh what you are currently using to how helpful it is. I prefer to create some sort of scale, ensuring that the products you are using are well rounded enough to accomplish several key milestones within your process. For example if you are looking at the outreach portion of your process, how helpful would it be to have a tool that locates leads, and serves as a tool for outreach as well. Having this approach will ensure your money is well spent and that your tech stack is actually being used for your needs.

Another key issue to keep in mind is shiny object syndrome! There is always going to be something new and amazing out there in the tech world. Something that promises to change your life and to make every working day a pleasure. Don’t fall into this trap! Always ensure you are evaluating a product to its fullest capacity and weighing your objects carefully before putting your process and wallet on the line! 

Last as we always say at CAS the best offense is a good defense when it comes to tech, so be proactive when looking at your tech stack! Look quarterly or yearly but never wait until things become a problem!
