VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:

Hello everyone, welcome back to another video with Cloud Adoption Solutions! My name is Malik, and today we are gonna be talking about how you can utilize Salesforce while on the go. Now, a lot of people know that Salesforce is very handy and it’s very powerful software when you have a laptop and you have it open and you’re doing your daily things that you do on your computer. But what if you are somewhere where you aren’t able to use your computer, or using a computer gets in the way of what you’re trying to accomplish?

That’s where the Salesforce mobile app comes in handy. You can use the Salesforce mobile app to help you add new contacts and new records to Salesforce just right from your phone; as long as you log in—you download the app and log in. Now, the specific scenario that we’re gonna be talking about is how you can use the Salesforce mobile app to add new leads to your Salesforce instance at something like a trade show or an event that you guys have going on.

So, I’m gonna walk you through some of the setup that I’ve done already on the back end to make sure the leads come out correctly, and I’m gonna show you what it looks like to use the Salesforce mobile app to create those leads from your phone. So first, we’re gonna go over the basic things that you need to set up to get these leads to come over.

If we were to go to our global actions—so you go into setup and look at the global actions—you can create leads two ways while using the Salesforce mobile app. You can create a global action for it where you can have a predefined form or a set of fields that you can fill out to create a lead pretty easily, and you can also use this to predefine some field values for the lead you’re gonna create, too. Or, you can just use the standard way in the mobile app; it’ll be a ‘New’ button, as we’ll see soon enough. You can use this button to just pull up the regular form that your users would see when they’re creating a lead.

But I’m gonna go ahead and use the global action for this. So the global action that I have here, I just have it labeled as ‘New Booth Lead,’ and we have only five fields that we need to fill out for our lead to be created here. So once you select your fields, you would click save. And then you also want to make sure that the layout—that the action—is added to the publisher layout for the mobile app.

So you’ll click in the quick find box and then type in ‘publisher.’ And that will bring you to this page where you can edit the global layout, which you might already have. You’ll wanna look for the global action that you created in this section up top, and you’re gonna drag it down below so that it is in this section down here: Salesforce Mobile Actions. You want to get it from here and add it to here.

Then, after this has been added, you also want to make sure that you are scoring your leads correctly. So if you have Einstein Lead Scoring in your org, then you would just set it up in this section; you would type in ‘lead scoring.’ But I don’t have Einstein Lead Scoring in this developer org, so I’m going to actually be using a flow that I built to score a lead based off of the interest level of the person.

So what I did was I created a picklist field that is just ‘Cool,’ ‘Warm,’ or ‘Hot’ levels of interest for the specific lead. And then there’s a number associated to each of those values—Hot, Warm, Cool—and they get a number associated to them depending on their level of interest.

Okay, so after that, if those are set up, we also want to make sure that the lead assignment rules are set up as well for our users in the system. So let’s go and check those that we have set up. So if you don’t have one already, it’s pretty simple to make a lead assignment rule: you just create one, give it a name, and then you activate it. And then after you activate it, you’ll get to this screen where you can add more rules pertaining to your leads.

So for my leads, I want them to assign depending on the level of interest of the person. So if it’s ‘Cool,’ I want it to assign it to me. If it is equal to ‘Warm’ or ‘Hot’—actually this should be equal to ‘Warm’ or ‘Hot,’ so I’m gonna change those right now. So, if this level of interest equals ‘Warm’ or ‘Hot,’ then you would assign it to John. And here, just select those—you just click on that magnifier glass and then you select the selection that you want there. So I’m gonna clear these out, click, and save.

And there we go! So once you have those set up, you’re pretty all set to start entering leads while you’re on the go using the Salesforce mobile app. And then let’s switch over there to see what that would look like.

So you can use this screen; you can use the ‘New’ button at the top in the Salesforce mobile app to go ahead and create a lead. You can enter the person that you just met; you can enter the information in the fields. I wanna do Steve Smith, Smithing Inc., and then you would set the interest level to ‘Warm’ because we want this lead to be owned by John. And we can put in smithing1@gmail.com.

Okay, so once all the information is in, go ahead and click save. And then we’re going to check some of the information on Steve’s lead record. So we can already see the lead owner for the lead has been set to John, and we’ve also been given a lead score of 50 because, as we looked at before, our interest level is ‘Warm,’ and that gives us a lead score of 50. And then from there, you can just let the people on the other end take it over once it’s been assigned to the correct lead owner.
