What’s New with Salesforce?

Salesforce and Generative AI

Salesforce continues to embrace the AI revolution, announcing Marketing GPT and Commerce GPT to their burgeoning lineup of AI products. The two will utilize Generative Artificial Intelligence capabilities in tandem with real-time data from Data Cloud to transform how companies connect with their customers.

Marketing GPT will enable marketers to generate personalized and relevant emails across every touchpoint automatically. They can improve their targeting using AI-driven recommendations, reduce their writing workload, and improve their Marketing ROI.

Meanwhile, Commerce GPT will use Data Cloud data to enable companies to customize the experience at every step of a buyer’s journey.  Users will be able automate growth and conversion strategies and maximize merchant productivity. Commerce GPT will help businesses set goals and targets and then provide recommendations for meeting them.

Also – Life Sciences companies and professionals looking to learn best practices for using Salesforce and other Sales and Marketing technologies, in addition to leveraging these exciting, cutting-edge tools like generative AI, should head down to sunny Fort Lauderdale, FL, August 24-25 for an incredible 2-day beachside conference extravaganza, Life Sciences Dreamin’!

We are thrilled to announce our two keynote speakers, Fatima Paruk, MD, MPH – SVP & Chief Health Officer, Salesforce, and J. Cris Salinas, MD – Global Head, MedTech Advisory and Innovation, Salesforce!

User Adoption Research: Details from my PhD Research

Studying Salesforce Academically – and then Putting it into Practice

When you write a dissertation based on qualitative research, you have to create (and have approved by an IRB) an interview protocol. One of the most critical questions I asked my study participants about their CRM User Adoption was:

Do you use a CRM governance committee structure?

  • If so, who is on that committee?
  • How often do they meet?
  • Is there a set agenda?
  • Who takes action on any outcomes?

Participants gave wild responses, ranging from a formal governance committee to an unclear governing structure.

  • There is an internal committee at the organization that manages the database, and it’s mostly the team that kind of owns that.
  • The person that oversees it is our sales manager.
  • So you get to that point, you have no governance, there’s no, it was. It’s interesting, because you’re like, we’re a capacity builder, we should know, we should have those systems in place.

You can almost HEAR the stuttering in that last response, right?

If you don’t have a governance committee in place, there’s a great Trailhead module that helps give info on the how and why (and the people/process/technology triangle that made up so much of my PhD research is even depicted! Win!)

If you want even more info on this critical CRM user adoption research, I have a journey built that you can follow if you click here. Or, shoot me a message to have us help you develop your adoption strategy.  – Shannon

Advice from an Expert

Send your Qs to info@cloudadoption.solutions

Q:  How do I ensure that my Salesforce is up to date and operating at its best ability?

A: This is a pretty common question! A lot of executives and companies know what they need out of their Salesforce org, but aren’t always sure that outside of those specific requirements that their data is clean, and their Salesforce is running as it should, and that they’re taking advantage of ALL of the things that Salesforce has to offer!

We always recommend the easiest way to check with our Salesforce Gap Analysis. It’s free and easy, and highly recommended for checking every couple of quarters.  We combine your Optimization report with Elements.Cloud and then apply our knowledge of best practices to give you a health score to show you where your critical needs are – and many you can fix yourself!

What it does is check in your Salesforce org for issues, duplicates, bugs, you name it! Checking integrations and updates, ensuring that everything is working smoothly and properly and making suggestions about necessary steps to make Salesforce more effective. The best part is its speed and accuracy.
