What’s New with Salesforce?
Winter 2023 Release is Here
Winter release 2023 is here! And, wow, is it HUGE.
In recent years, Salesforce has had more subdued releases (especially in the Winter due to Covid and some of the complexities it had caused). This year, it seems that Salesforce is really trying to give us a robust and full release, with many changes that were expected coming quickly even in categories such as Einstein and Account Engagement.
We’re totally digging Collaborative Forecasts, allowing custom calculated columns, filtering on custom fields, and quota attainment progress bars, and we love these two “dynamic” features: dynamic forms for standard objects, and dynamic related List filters.
Cloud Adoption Solutions is absolutely going to be doing an in depth dive to Winter Release ‘23 and what it means to each of our clients; however, it is always good to read through the release notes to be prepared for the language that Salesforce will use, as well as to get a glimpse of what may be to come!
Winter Release ‘23 was quite extensive and was released on October 5th – 28th! To view it in full, click here.
There’s a lot of Salesforce news, and it’s hard to keep up! As always, Cloud Adoption Solutions aims to bring the best and most important Salesforce news to you so you don’t have to do all of the work. Keep following along with us and make sure to subscribe to our blog posts for more! – Andrew
User Adoption Research: Details from my PhD Research
Designing and Implementing System with Change Management Consideration
The design and implementation of a system depends on a change management process that constructs “tentative incremental steps” to allow for a feedback loop where plans can be changed due to “unanticipated consequences” (Hayes, 2018, p. 31). The implementation involves a change in the way different aspects of the work are measured by the organization (Almanei et al., 2018, p. 1163). Individuals encountering a new system or process will ask how it can be used and what problems they are likely to run into, so the change agent needs to provide assistance (Rogers, 2003, p. 179). According to Kharabe (2012), “as the organizations learn about the capabilities of the enterprise system…the system itself became a recursive force for change to the system” (p. 179). Best practices and high-performing processes can be implemented in the CRM system to allow all members of the organization to learn from and therefore utilize the most productive process; templates, guidance, and activity tracking can be implemented in the CRM system (Weinstein, 2008, p. 28).

Advice from an Expert

Q: What sort of things should I think about for year-end Salesforce maintenance?
A: Year-end is a great time to audit your Salesforce instance. You can, and should, audit record modification fields, login history, field history tracking, and setup audit trail. (Best practices for your company may be to audit these more than once a year, but year-end is a great time to get started if this isn’t already a practice for you!)

“We ought to make the moments notes
Of happy, glad Thanksgiving;
The hours and days a silent phrase
Of music we are living.
And so the theme should swell and grow
As weeks and months pass o’er us,
And rise sublime at this good time,
A grand Thanksgiving chorus.”
“Thanksgiving” — Ella Wheeler Wilcox
